As Atishi Marlena Singh becomes the new Chief Minister of Delhi, joining a group of greatly influential and powerful women who are or have previously held this position, leading the Indian States with utmost dedication,

Atishi, who has been the face of the Delhi government in the absence of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, has been chosen to step into the Chief Minister role.

Kejriwal handed his resignation to Delhi's Lt. Gov. VK Saxena after serving the post for more than nine years.

Atishi Marlena Singh has been appointed as the next Chief Minister of Delhi by Arvind Kejriwal after his resignation. Previously serving as Delhi’s Education Minister, Atishi will be the third woman to hold this office in Delhi.

"Atishi will take oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi on September 21, other ministers will also take their oaths alongside her," the Aam Aadmi Party said in a statement.
