The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had communicated to the ICC last week, citing security concerns across the border, as reason for refusing to send its team to Pakistan for the marquee ODI tournament,

The PCB’s demand for clarification comes amidst political strains that have kept India and Pakistan from playing bilateral cricket on each other’s soil since 2008.

Currently, neither Pakistan nor India are taking a step back from their current stance, meaning no compromise is yet to be reached on the tournament's location. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is determined to play the entire tournament in its own backyard providing India flexibility of Lahore as their venue (geographically closer to India).
