Developers can try out the Apple iOS 18.2 beta now with ChatGPT for iPhone and iPad. Plus, the App Store isn’t the only marketplace anymore.

Apple has released iOS / iPadOS 18.2 into public beta, as spotted by MacRumors. It includes access to the second wave of Apple Intelligence features that were already available to developers, like the AI-generated custom emoji feature Genmoji and the Image Playground feature that generates pictures.

Now, the modern Siri look has arrived in iOS 18.1, but only on devices that support Apple Intelligence. If you're still tapping your fingers in the Apple Intelligence waitlist queue, you'll also see the Siri sphere for now.

As reported by MacRumors, and confirmed by Tom’s Guide AI Editor Ryan Morrison, Image Playground does not have a sketch option in the current beta versions of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2 and MacOS Sequoia 15.2. Instead you’re only met with options for animation and illustration.

Apple’s initial pitch made it seem like these AI enhancements would come at no extra cost. But as the beta version rolls out, it’s clear that users will face limitations unless they choose to pay for a premium subscription to ChatGPT Plus.
