WEBA brief overview of CWI's rich history: CWI was founded on 11 February 1946 to contribute to post-war reconstruction after WWII, as Mathematisch Centrum (MC) CWI developed the first computers in the Netherlands, the ARRA (1952) and its successors, and continued to produce computers via Elektrologica (1956), the first spin-off company of CWI.
